Harlem's own Grammy Award- and Academy Award-nominated IMPACT Repertory Theatre is rooted in the rich traditions of the African-American musical legacy. This popular choir inspires as it "raises the roof" with soulful traditional and contemporary gospel favorites. Award-winning singer-songwriter Charles Mack, whose work is steeped in the blues traditions of Chicago's South Side, has brought funk, soul, and rhythm and blues to the stage with legends like Buddy Guy, Lucky Peterson, and Cypress Hill. Singer and actress Sandra Reaves-Phillips has starred in numerous theatrical, television, and feature film roles, including as the dedicated music teacher in "Lean On Me" with Academy Award-winner Morgan Freeman. A modern-day griot, Ms. Phillips blends the very best of the blues, gospel, and jazz into an artistry all her own. http://www.nymetroparents.com/2014neweventinfo.cfm?id=102188 American Museum of Natural History true DD/MM/YYYY
