NYRP's Campout

This event has already taken place. Click here for the latest events.

Add to Calendar 21-09-2012 22-09-2012 15 NYRP's Campout City kids don't usually have the chance to campout in their backyards. Very few New Yorkers have experienced their urban habitat at night. You might think that you have to leave the city to go camping, but NYRP is hosting two opportunities this season to pitch a tent, unroll your sleeping bag and sleep under the stars. Starting on Friday at 5pm, participants will learn to pitch their own tent, take an evening hike through Highbridge Park (feeding time for many creatures!), eat burgers and/or hot dogs from the grill, make s'mores, and watch a movie on the big screen. All activities will happen outdoors, so bring a sweater to stay warm at night. If you don't have a sleeping bag or sleeping pad, then bring some blankets. This is urban camping, so use the resources you already have. NYRP will have limited sleeping bags/pads for those in need and will provide all tents. The camping event will end around 9am on Saturday morning, following breakdown of the campsite and breakfast. http://www.nymetroparents.com/2014neweventinfo.cfm?id=110197 Swindler Cove Park true DD/MM/YYYY
