Add to Calendar 12-03-2013 12-03-2013 15 Student Advocacy Training Institute: Overcoming Barriers to Graduation This workshop for parents and professionals is presented by Maryan Johnson, Esq. Some teenagers face major obstacles to graduation: re-entry problems after dropping out; registration problems due to unusual living arrangements; failure to obtain credits; or failure on state exams. Many either stop going to school or are told by the district to get a GED - often not a realistic option. This training will address the legal protections afforded public school students up to the age of 21, and looks at the impact of new testing standards for both special education and general education students. Pre-registration required. To apply for a scholarship, call Lois Solomon-Neal at 914-347-7039 x100. http://www.nymetroparents.com/2014neweventinfo.cfm?id=121901 Student Advocacy true DD/MM/YYYY
