Add to Calendar 06-01-2013 06-01-2013 15 World's Fairs of the Future In the 1930s, when America was struggling through an economic crisis known as the Great Depression, six World's Fairs were mounted across the country, to give citizens hope and a vision for the future, and here in New York, Flushing Meadow Park in Queens was created as the home of the 1939 World's Fair. Explore the new exhibition "Designing Tomorrow: America's World's Fairs of the 1930s" with a museum educator, and discover the robots, inventions, and creative design and architecture that shaped the futuristic vision of the World's Fairs of the 1930s. Children will then get the chance to work with clay to create their own 2013 World's Fair pavilion.
