Spiritual Retreat: Led by Oscar Miro-Quesada - Wainwright House presented by Center for Holistic Practices
Add to Calendar 19-04-2013 21-04-2013 15 Spiritual Retreat: Led by Oscar Miro-Quesada The Center for Holistic Practices & Psychotherapy is pleased to present an Apprenticeship Weekend starting Friday, April 19th at the Wainwright House in Rye, New York. This spiritual retreat is on "Caring, Curing & Community -Befriending the Three Muses of Shamanism." The weekend will be led by Don Oscar Miro-Quesada, a respected Peruvian kamasqa curandero, UN Observer to the Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues, as well as several other accolades. Oscar's work has been featured on CNN, Univision, A&E, and the Discovery Channel. Today's practitioner of shamanism leaves new footprints on paths of psychic awareness and spiritual wisdom that are over 30,000 years old. Shamanism is a soul-infused tradition of spiritual healing, transformational power, and perennial wisdom that sees all of life as interconnected and sacred. The process of awakening to this shamanic worldview is as vast as the universe itself. It excludes no one, yet favorably embraces those willing to surrender a limited sense of self. One must live it to understand it. This weekend apprenticeship experience is designed to offer participants a heartfelt deepening of their shamanic life. It is both an affirmation of one's oath to serve the betterment of humankind, and a celebration of this possibility in and of itself. Approximate Weekend Schedule: Friday Arrive between 3-5:30pm. Dinner is served at 6pm. Workshop to follow. Saturday Breakfast 8:30-9:30am. Workshop to follow. Lunch 12-1pm. Workshop to follow Dinner 6-7pm. Workshop to follow Sunday Breakfast 8:30-9:30am.
