Make your way to Wave Hill on Wednesday evenings July 10-Aug. 14 for an experience unlike any other. Unwind with an outdoor yoga class, take a guided stroll through the gardens, or simply put your feet up and take in the summer sun setting over the Palisades. Enjoy a relaxing dinner on the Terrace from the newly renovated Cafe, or bring your refreshments to the Great Lawn as local Bronx musicians fill the air with their sweet songs of summer. From smooth Latin grooves and classical guitar, to Garifuna rhythms and Caribbean jazz, by the end of the night these performers will have you tapping your feet and humming along. Bring your own chair, but please leave blankets at home. The grounds will remain open until 8:30pm. Free shuttle service to and from Metro-North and the #1 subway. Registration opens day-of at 9:30AM at the Perkins Visitor Center. Venue Description: See natural beauty at its finest at Wave Hill, the 28-acre public garden and cultural center in the Bronx. Overlooking the Hudson River and Palisades, Wave Hill's true view lies in the park's magnificent gardens and landscapes. Horticulture and the arts programs for children, teenagers, and teachers are hosted by Wave Hill. Its grounds serve as living laboratories for science exploration. A memorable and scenic venue location, the Wave Hill House, built in 1843, is available for meetings, conferences, celebrations, and photo shoots. Wave Hill House was home to many celebrated icons, including Theodore Roosevelt and Mark Twain.
On weekends from 10am-1pm, the whole family can enjoy with a naturally creative Family Art Project. Wave Hill's visual arts program presents artworks in the galleries and on the grounds that engage the public in a dialogue with nature, culture, and site.
