Add to Calendar 21-06-2014 21-06-2014 15 Story Time: Kate Samworth presents Aviary Wonders Inc. Spring Catalog and Instruction Manual Artist and printmaker Kate Samworth is also a teacher and an ardent spokeswoman for environmental protection and preservation. Her new book Aviary Wonders is a mock catalog, a clever send-up of contemporary sales spin and a thought-provoking look into an all-too-possible future. Brilliantly illustrated with oil paintings and filled with laugh-aloud asides as well as sobering facts about extinct species, this slyly satirical crafter's delight is offered as the perfect antidote to extinction of birds in the wild. Kate will talk about her book and her art, and then lead a craft with her own hand-made stencils, which kids can use to draw and assemble their own imaginary birds. http://www.nymetroparents.com/2014neweventinfo.cfm?id=162655 Greenlight Bookstore true DD/MM/YYYY
