Meerwald, New Jersey’s official Tall Ship, is a magnificently restored, two-masted, 115-foot oyster schooner, built in 1928, and driven by over 3,500 square feet of sail. When the Meerwald visits Alpine just once a year, the Tenafly Nature Center offers themed trips focusing on NJ’s history, art, music, and of course, nature. Passengers will view the majestic Palisades and city skyline as they listen to informative presentations. On this trip, passengers will sail for 3 hours and learn about the geology of the Palisades from George Harlow, Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at the American Museum of Natural History, followed by a discussion about the Hudson watershed with Dana Gulley of Hudson Riverkeeper. http://www.nymetroparents.com/2014neweventinfo.cfm?id=164876 Alpine Boat Basin true DD/MM/YYYY
