She's consumed with questions that she can't find answers to: What if her father was an alien and simply left Earth to return to his own planet? Wouldn't that make Aurélie an alien too? After all, that would explain many weird things about her, like why she feels different from everyone else, why she's doomed with a relentless clumsiness with words, or even why boys tend to get on her nerves all the time. Through the pages of her diary, Aurélie confides her innermost feelings of alienation and tries to find her place in the world.
