She has mastered ways to teach traditional quilt designs while making room for individual, novel expression. This workshop involves designing a quilt with tonal, colored, and patterned papers, arranging contrasting elements, choosing fabrics, and creating personal adaptations of the Nine Patch or Log Cabin designs. Teachers will learn accessible ways to teach traditional hand-sewing techniques in the classroom. Diana will demonstrate a fabric collage approach to story quilts and free-form fabric designs using fused fabrics, stitchery, and embellishments.
