Add to Calendar 08-04-2013 08-04-2013 15 Parent Support Group Family Center’s Parent Support Group offers caregivers mutual support by providing opportunities to meet with others also raising children with mental health diagnoses. Groups are facilitated by Parent Advocates, each having their own unique experience raising a child with an emotional disability. Groups are open to all Nassau County caregivers. While caregivers attend group, respite can be provided to children ages 5-17. To receive respite, a brief intake is required. This ensures staff is familiar with the child, making caregiver’s participation more relaxing. Group meets on the second and fourth Monday of each month.
