The Hobbs High School Festival Choir, hailing from Hobbs, N.M., is comprised of the A Capella and Mixed Choirs from Hobbs High School. Monreal received his bachelor degree in music education with an emphasis in choral education from Eastern New Mexico University and went on to complete his master’s degree at Westminster Choir College. The choirs consistently receive superior ratings in the Southeast District of New Mexico and perform frequently in community functions around the area. The group has toured multiple times, most recently to San Antonio and Dallas, Texas. The West Salem High School Orchestra of Salem, Ore., is consistently ranked as one of the top high school orchestras through competition in the Oregon School Activities Association State Orchestra Festival. Placing both first and second in subsequent years, the school program offers three string orchestras in addition to a full symphony. The orchestra’s members are frequently chosen by audition to perform in the Oregon All State Orchestra, All Northwest Orchestra, Oregon State Activities State Solo Competition and the highly competitive All City Orchestra. The students keep an intensive schedule, meeting nine-ten hours every week between their school-day chamber orchestra, after-school full symphony orchestra, and weekly chamber and sectional coaching. Director Daryl Silberman studied viola at the University of Colorado at Boulder, San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and University of Southern California. She has been director of the West Salem High School Orchestra program since 2007. http://www.nymetroparents.com/2015neweventinfo.cfm?id=130570 Church of the Intercession true DD/MM/YYYY
