Meerwald, New Jersey's official Tall Ship, is a magnificently restored, two-masted, 115-foot oyster schooner, built in 1928, and driven by over 3,500 square feet of sail. The Meerwald visits Alpine just once a year for a series of themed sailings focusing on New Jersey's history, art, music, and of course, nature. today's first sailing offers kids ages 5-12 and their parents a hands-on learning experience as the director of Tenafly Nature Center will introduce you to Hudson River fish, crabs and other creatures. Today's second sailing, toward Liberty State Park, features historian and Kearney House Curator Eric Nelson, who will spin yarns about the river and its denizens. Reservations are required. Presented by the Tenafly Nature Center. Alpine Boat Basin Alpine Boat Basin
