Add to Calendar 02-10-2013 02-10-2013 15 Lecture by Edward M. Hallowell, MD: 'Responsible Use of Electronics: Taking?Back Control' Technological innovation has changed our world more profoundly than anything since Johannes Gutenberg invented the printing press. This change has brought both spectacular progress and devilishly complex problems. New patterns of behavior are now epidemic. Increasingly, we are wrestling with the impact of electronic devices on growing minds. Dr. Edward Hallowell, nationally known psychiatrist and author of "CrazyBusy," "Super Parenting for ADHD," and other books on related topics, gives practical advice to parents and educators on how to help students take back control, use electronics responsibly, and reestablish the human connection that is all too often missing. Edward (Ned) Hallowell, M.D., the noted child and adult psychiatrist, is the founder of the Hallowell Centers in Sudbury, MA and New York City. He was a member of the Harvard Medical School faculty from 1983 to 2004, when he retired from academics to devote full attention to clinical practice, lectures, and writing. Dr. Hallowell has authored books on psychological topics, including ADD, the power of the human connection, the childhood roots of happiness, parenting, marriage, methods of forgiving, dealing with worry, and managing excessive busyness. http://www.nymetroparents.com/2015neweventinfo.cfm?id=147105 West End Day School true DD/MM/YYYY
