Dia de Los Muertos Celebrate Mexico's beloved 3,000-year-old tradition that remembers friends and family members who have passed away with photographs and offerings of symbolic elements. Join the celebration by adding your own offering to El Museo's altars and enjoying the colorful procession around the Harlem Meer, storytelling, face painting and dance performances. Exhibition on-view LA BIENAL 2013: Here is Where We Jump and PRESENCIA 11am-6pm, Las Galerias LA BIENAL features work by artists who live and work in New York City with special interest in the process. PRESENCIA focuses on ideas of presence and absence, based on works from El Museo's permanent collection. Procession CALVERAS CALLEJERAS 11am-12pm Kick off the festivities with a musical procession from Central Park's Dana Discovery Center at 110th Street to El Museo. Face Painting MI CARA CALACA 12-3pm, Black Box Theater, 3rd Floor Come have your face painted with colorful strokes to match the fabulous calaveras that surround you. Storytelling COLORIN COLORADO 1pm and 3pm, El Cafe Join us for stories celebrating the many traditions of Di a de los Muertos.
