Add to Calendar 19-01-2014 19-01-2014 15 Queens International Closing Celebration Enjoy this biennial that showcases the borough's vibrancy and diversity via artists who live and work in Queens. The 2013 edition, which also celebrates the museum's grand re-opening and expansion, is curated by Meiya Chang and Hitomi Iwasaki. For the first time in the biennial's history, artists from all genres will perform and showcase their work. See website for closing schedule. Closing program 1:00 � 2:00 pm QI artist Ander Mikalson�s Score for Two Dinosaurs in collaboration with Corona Youth Orchestra, audience is invited to the installation in the Atrium to participate in the re-creation of a segment of the score from the film Jurassic Park (1993) with playfully assembled objects accompanied by pictorial rendition of scores by the artist. 1:00-3:00pm In the Theater, join QI artists Queens World Film Festival for international shorts screenings, From/ Around the World including: Old Angel by Dony Chiang (Taiwan, 2012); 15 Summers Later by Pedro Collantes (Spain, 2011); My Green Pencil by Fayaz Bahram (Iran, 2012); Of Guilt and Grief by Tom van den Broek (Wales, 2012); Swing by Yen-ting Kuo (Taiwan, 2010); Curvas by David Galindo (Spain, 2012); Drat by Farzin Farzaneh (Canada,2010); At the Formal by Andrew Kavanagh (Australia, 2011); Tits of an 18 year old by Luca Gennari (Italy, 2012); and Pollicino by Cristiano Anania (Italy, 2012). 3:00-5:00pm In the Theater join QI artists Queens World Film Festival for From/Around the Corner, screenings either by Queens directors or set in Queens. Followed by Q&A with film directors.
