Add to Calendar 07-02-2014 07-02-2014 15 'Cabaret' Presented by the Clocktower Players Teen Troupe. Willkommen to the tantalizing world of The Kit Kat Klub, in 1930s Berlin. Through the eyes of young American writer, Cliff Bradshaw, the beguiling nightclub singer, Sally Bowles, Fraulein Schneider and her elderly Jewish suitor Herr Schultz, and the people of Berlin, this groundbreaking musical uniquely explores an era in which history was truly being made. Under the sway of its lasciviously charming Emcee, the decadence of the nightclub becomes a shattered mirror reflecting a society spiraling toward disaster with the rise of Hitler's Nazis. The fabulous Kander & Ebb score features notable musical numbers including, "Willkommen," "Cabaret," "Don't Tell Mama," "Two Ladies," and "Tomorrow Belongs to Me" - a folk melody that turns into a rousing march, a promise, and a threat scarier than the show's looming swastikas. One of the defining musicals of all time, this Tony Award-winner broke new ground in theater, intertwining social history with dazzling entertainment in new and dangerous ways. Thought-provoking and mesmerizing, this production is a must-see. Mature content. Book by Joe Masteroff. Based on the play by John Van Druten and stories by Christopher Isherwood. Music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb. Director Cagle McDonald; Music Director: George Croom; Choreographer: Josue Jasmin; Production Design David Lovett. http://www.nymetroparents.com/2015neweventinfo.cfm?id=153859 Irvington Town Hall Theater true DD/MM/YYYY
