Kids and adults of all ages can get spooked during the annual Halloween Hair-Raiser at Lasdon Park, Arboretum and Veterans Memorial in Somers during October and November. Themed "The Nightmare Before Christmas," the main house will be transformed into a haunted house featuring a two-tiered Lionel train that traverses the countryside from Halloween Town to Christmas Town via the polar express. In the main dining room, visitors can view the town's own Pumpkin King, along other scary characters. The younger set can get a feel for model trains by trying out a special children's train layout designed just for them.
