CAMP BROADWAY, an NYC-based kids' theater company, is holding auditions for its performance in the upcoming 2011 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Kids ages 12-16 are invited to audition, beginning with an open casting call in New York City on August 3.

CAMP BROADWAY®, the award-winning NYC theater arts education company, is now casting 120 performance-loving kids, ages 12-16, to perform the original number There's No Place Like Here live in the 85th Anniversary Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade®. The parade will be televised live nationwide on NBC-TV on November 24, 2011 beginning at 9am.

CAMP BROADWAY, under the direction of artistic director Tony Parise, has been selected to perform the original number There's No Place Like Here, a song featured in the 3D-animated, direct-to-DVD movie "Quest for Zhu," which will be released on September 27, 2011. CAMP BROADWAY's performance will be televised live from Herald Square, surrounding the ZhuZhu Pets float.

Choreography will be done by Tony Parise. Auditions will occur around the country, coinciding with CAMP BROADWAY's national tour. Auditions will be conducted as open calls. No specific time slots will be available and there is no need to register for an audition. All should be prepared to learn choreography and dance. Please come in appropriate attire and footwear.

Audition dates, times, and locations are as follows:

Wednesday, August 3 at 6:30pm: New York City Pearl Studios

Sunday, August 7 at 5pm: Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center, Westhampton Beach, NY

Sunday, August 7 at 12pm: Providence, Rhode Island Providence Performing Arts Center

Saturday, August 27 at 9am: Tempe, Arizona ASU Gammage

Sunday, August 28 at 2pm: St. Louis, Missouri, The Muny

Saturday, September 17 at 10am: Jacksonville, FL, Florida Community College

CAMP BROADWAY has created a special one-week program leading up to the parade performance, including a series of Broadway workshops, classes, and rehearsals to prepare participants for the nationally televised performance. Once selected, registration fees and information will be made available to each participant.
