CT Open House Day

June 9 is the 8th annual Connecticut Open House Day, when museums and cultural establishments all over CT will roll out the red carpet, offering free admission and special incentives. Below are a few of our favorite participating venues:

 

sea turtle at maritime aquariumYou don’t have to be a Connecticut resident to get free admission to the Bruce Museum (make sure to check out The Olympic Games exhibit while you’re there!). 10am-5pm. 1 Museum Drive, Greenwich.

 

Enjoy free admission, special discounts, free coffee, and children’s nature crafts at the Connecticut Audubon Society. One person in each visiting group must present a valid Connecticut driver’s license. 10am-3pm. 2325 Burr St., Fairfield.

 

Admission is free for all at the Fairfield Museum and History Center. 12-4pm. 370 Beach Road, Fairfield.

 

Proof of residency gets you a 50 percent discount at the Mashantucket Pequot Museum. Regular admission is $15; $10 ages 6-15; free children younger than 6. 110 Pequot Trail, Mashantucket.

 

Be among the first 100 visitors and receive free admission to the Stamford Museum and Nature Center. 9am-5pm. 39 Scofieldtown Road, Stamford.

 

The first 100 visitors also get in free at Stepping Stones Museum. 10am-5pm. 303 West Ave., Norwalk.

 

The Maritime Aquarium is offering a $2 discount on Adventure Pass tickets, which include admission to both the aquarium and an IMAX movie: $18.45; $13.45 ages 2-12. One person in each visiting group must show a valid Connecticut driver’s license. 10am-5pm. 10 N. Water St., Norwalk.
