The Young School of Design, the re-named and expanded Nykidsanimate, offers classes for ages 8-14 in comic bookmaking, special effects, filmmaking, and more. There are new June intensives and, for the first time, a summer art camp. Rachel Johnson, the founder and a filmmaker, says the classes are designed to push kids to create; the professionals who teach the classes offer children the same courses college students take.
