4th of July Fireworks and Festivals in Westchester

UPDATED JUNE 2019: Itching to see some fireworks with the kids? Grab a blanket or folding chair, a sweatshirt, some snacks, and a bottle of mosquito repellent, and get ready to celebrate our nation's birthday under the stars all throughout Westchester! We've mapped out this year's schedule of Fourth of July fireworks and festivities so you don't have to.

 

FREE Kensico Dam Music Fest and Fireworks
WHEN:
Wednesday, July 3, 6-9:45pm
WHERE: Kensico Dam Plaza, 1 Bronx River Parkway Road, Valhalla
AGES: All ages
WHAT: Pack a picnic and bring the family to this Independence Day holiday celebration! Entertainment begins at 6 p.m., followed by a concert of patriotic music at 8 p.m., and fireworks at 9:15 p.m. Admission and parking free. Carpooling suggested.

FREE Independence Day Celebration

WHERE: St. Paul's Church N.H.S., 897 S. Columbus Ave., Mt. Vernon
AGES: All ages
WHAT: A traditional July 4th celebration featuring music, speeches, refreshments, reading of the Declaration of Independence, and tolling of the historic St. Paul's church bell – 13 times.

Pops, Patriots, and Fireworks

WHERE: Caramoor Center for Music and the Art, 149 Girdle Ridge Road, Katonah
AGES: All ages
WHAT: The Westchester Symphonic Winds perform a selection of works that pay tribute to America’s independence. The evening includes a medley of Rodgers and Hammerstein songs performed by Caramoor Schwab Vocal Rising Star alums Madison Leonard and Shea Owens, and ends with a rousing rendition of Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture, followed by a spectacular fireworks display!

FREE Spark the Sounds Fireworks by Grucci

WHAT: Cap off your holiday evening with a viewing of the grand fireworks display at the New Rochelle waterfront.

Red, White, and Blue Scavenger Hunt

WHERE: The Beardsley Zoo, 1875 Noble Ave., Bridgeport, CT
AGES: All ages
WHAT: Join the Zoo as it celebrates Independence Day with an educational natural history talk, Animal Bytes, at the Bald Eagle exhibit on July 4 throughout the afternoon — with lots of Q&A. There’s a scavenger hunt featuring the Zoo’s naturally red, white, and blue animals! Snowy owls, Red panda, Blue Poison Dart frogs, and more.

WHAT: Celebrate Independence Day with the town of Peekskill. Start – Washington Street to South Street to Division Street to Main Street to Broad Street and ending at the Central Firehouse.

FREE Independence Day Celebration

WHERE: Trophy Point Amphitheater, 117-119 Washington Road, West Point
AGES: All ages
WHAT: There’s no better way to celebrate America’s independence than with the Army’s oldest band! Grab a blanket, bring a picnic, and enjoy a wide variety of music ranging from traditional field music to today’s popular hits, and everything in between. As always, this performance concludes with a spectacular fireworks display over the Hudson River.
