AMC theaters across the country have dedicated one day each month to creating a comfortable environment in which audience members with autism and/or sensory disorders can watch a current movie. The lights stay up in the theater, the sound is turned down, and audience members are invited to get up and dance, walk, shout, or sing. This month’s film is Dr. Seuss’s The Lorax. Two theaters in Suffolk County offer sensory-friendly screenings: AMC Lowes Theater Stonybrook 17 and AMC Loews Shore 8.
