It’s hard to believe that the Harry Potter series—both in print and on the big screen‚ has come to a close, after delighting and surprising kids around the world (and let’s face it-their parents, too) for more than a decade. But while author J.K. Rowling has vowed to pen no more Potter quests, we should have known the creator of Hogwarts, house elves, and horcruxes had something else up her sleeve.

This October marks the launch of Pottermore (www.pottermore.com), a website created by Rowling to allow us muggles to enter the magical world she created. At its heart, the site is a free online reading experience where users can participate in the beloved stories, share their own Potter-related obsession (ahem, sorry, “creativity”), and discover additional information about the world of Harry Potter from the author herself. At launch, this Harry lover’s haven will feature the first story, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, and more will be added over time.

Still not enough, my fellow Gryffindors? Then check out the Pottermore Shop, where you can download the digital audio books and, for the first time, purchase the complete series of eBooks.
