NY Sportek Opens in Forest Hills

Dov Medina, an owner of a successful gym in Israel, brings his skills as a personal trainer to the Forest Hills Jewish Center with the opening of NY Sportek, a sports center that offers youth and adults fitness classes.

Already the owner of a successful gym overseas, Dov Medina wanted tony sportek opens in forest hills bring his knowledge as a personal trainer to the New York City area for the first time. “I built a gym in Israel,” Medina says. “Now, I am trying to do the same thing over here. I think we are on the right track.” 

Working in the gym environment since he was 18, Medina opened NY Sportek sports center in the heart of Forest Hills as a part of the Forest Hills Jewish Center. The sports center offers youth basketball for ages 5-14 and a variety of yoga and total-body fitness classes for kids and adults. Within the last few months, NY Sportek also began offering Zumba classes.

Currently open every Monday and Wednesday, Medina hopes to get the gym operating six times a week. In addition to expanding the sports center’s hours, Medina also has plans to install more fitness equipment and offer personal training in a
corner of the gym.
