The DNA Learning Center of Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory is the world’s first science center devoted entirely to genetics education. The DNALC "invented" DNA camps in 1985; since then more than 15,000 students have participated. Each summer we offer fun and challenging science camps for science enthusiasts entering sixth through 12th grade. Guided by experienced instructors, students use sophisticated laboratory and computer equipment to perform experiments several grade levels ahead of their peers.

Congregation Beth-El of Massapequa, a synagogue where “Friends Become Family,” is introducing a new pre-school program for younger children. The program will offer children ages 3-5 years, a fun-filled Jewish experience focusing on arts and crafts projects, learning about Jewish customs and holidays, and enjoying Jewish-themed music and dance. The Village East Gifted (VEG) program offers a 100-percent academic, highly rigorous, and engaging curriculum with a strong emphasis on writing. VEG's Gifted Kindergarten and the After-School Enrichment Program have more than 280 students in grades pre-Kindergarten through high school, all of whom have placed in the ninetieth percentile or higher on national tests with IQ scores between 130 and 160.
