In honor of United Nations World Autism Awareness Day (April 2), Autism Speaks shines a light on the prevalence of autism and the issues surrounding the developmental disorder with its third annual "Light It Up Blue" campaign, a global initiative.

Autism Speaks led the way in shining a light on the prevalence of autism with its third annual Light It Up Blue campaign, a global initiative to help raise awareness of autism as a growing health crisis.

Light It Up Blue campaignOn April 2, United Nations World Autism Awareness Day, in more than 220 U.S. cities and 28 countries around the world, iconic structures such as NYC’s Empire State Building, Madison Square Garden, Radio City Music Hall, Intrepid Sea Air & Space Museum, Citi Field, and MetLife Stadium, were illuminated with special blue lights.

On the Autism Speaks website parents will also find a wealth of concrete tools to help them manage the wide range of health-related concerns that are commonly associated with autism spectrum disorders.
