A Centennial Celebration On Ice

Disney on Ice Celebrates 100 Years of Magic   Join Mickey and Minnie, Pinocchio, Jiminy Cricket, Stitch, Nemo, Buzz Lightyear, Woody, the Incredibles, and others! In Disney on Ice Celebrates 100 Years of Magic, the largest-ever cast of Disney characters performs beloved scenes from a variety of Disney stories and exciting moments from movies like The Lion King and Mulan. The Bull in the Book Comes to Life on Stage

Ferdinand the Bull at Queens Theatre in the Park   The Hudson Vagabond Puppets Company presents the classic tale, Ferdinand The Bull, complete with masked dancers and mechanical figures. Watch the story of a peaceful bull that would rather sit and smell the flowers than fight. For children ages 4-10. $12. Follow That Shadow

ShadowPLAY at the New York Hall of Science   At ShadowPLAY, a workshop offered by the New York Hall of Science, kids learn all about how shadows are created. They’ll use crystal-themed shadow puppets, tubes, colored gels, and their bodies to experiment with lights and manipulate their shadows. January 16, 17, 18. 10am-6pm. A Victorian Afternoon

Storybook Discovery Days at the Voelker Orth Museum   If you haven’t visited the Voelker Orth Museum, Bird Sanctuary and Victorian Garden yet, bring the kids on Storybook Discovery Days, offered once a month. Kids gather in the museum’s Victorian parlor for a storybook reading from a children’s book and then participate in a discovery activity. Tour the garden and view favorite plants from the Victorian era as well as a bird sanctuary. For kids 6 and under. January 23, 11am-12pm. $1 donation suggested. Korean Music & Dance Immersion

Korean Music & Dance Immersion, by Noreum Machi   Learn about Korean culture with a concert by Noreum Machi, a Korean music and dance ensemble. Kids can move to the virtuosic percussion, called Samul-Nori, and watch as costumed performers dance. Sign up for an interactive arts workshop prior to the performance, and meet the performers after the show. Ages 6 and up. January 30. Performance at 2:30pm; $12, $10 students, $8 children.
