The Laboratory of Molecular Neuropsychiatry conducts research studies on the genetic causes of autism. We are using molecular genetics to identify, and ultimately characterize, genes that contribute to autism. Our lab has identified a region on chromosome 2 that appears to harbor an autism susceptibility gene. Additionally, through our involvement with the Autism Genome Project, we are currently recruiting families and children with autism to participate in our research.
