It's hard to believe 10 years have passed since the events of September 11, 2001. In honor of this anniversary, many venues and organizations throughout the New York City area are offering family-appropriate memorial events in early September, including special concerts and museum exhibits, community readings and gatherings, commemorative art and photo displays, religious services, fundraising runs, and more. Many museums and cultural venues throughout the area will offer free admission on September 11, so families can spend the day together, and several local organizations will offer volunteer opportunities in honor of the responders who lost their lives during the tragedies.
