The Boys and Girls Club of Northern Westchester Helps Raise Noteworthy Sum for Youth Programs

The Boys and Girls Club of Northern Westchester honored its Humanitarian of the Year and raised a noteworthy sum for “Positive Place for Kids,” a program that serves more than 2,000 youth members, at its annual Humanitarian Award Dinner.

With close to 400 in attendance, the Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester’s 18th annual Humanitarian Award Dinner on June 15 raised more than $350,000 for “Positive Place for Kids,” a program that serves more than 2,000 youth members. 

BGCNW Youth of the Year with Former NYC Mayor Giuliani

BGCNW’s 2012 Youth of the Year and Mount Kisco resident Michelle  Imbaquingo (left) received recognition for her leadership skills, academic excellence, and community service. Former New York City mayor and Manhattan resident Rudy Giuliani (right) was in attendance to present the Humanitarian of the Year Award.

The event, held at Lexus of Mount Kisco, honored White Plains resident Richard J. Smith of Entergy as the 2012 Humanitarian of the Year. Additionally, the Junior League of Northern Westchester received the John Beach Award and the club honored member Michelle Imbaquingo, who it recently named its 2012 Youth of the Year.

Club board president Kevin Bannon was emcee, former New York City mayor Rudolph Giuliani served as award presenter, and Bill Harden of Somers was the evening’s auctioneer.

The auction featured many unique items, including a horseback ride for four alongside Martha Stewart and Richard Gere and a round of golf with Guiliani.

This year’s Humanitarian Award Dinner co-chairs were Muffin Dowdle of Pound Ridge and Renee Jordan Torre of South Salem. The dinner’s subcommittee co-chairs were Linda Mahon of Mount Kisco, Heidi Johnston of Cross River, Deirdre Farrell of South Salem, and Nori Oliva of Greenwich, CT.

Recent event honorees include Holly and David Singer, Bill and Jane Balter, Thomas and Ursula LaMotte, Laureen Barber, Leslie Cecil, and John and Amy Crabtree.
