All American Drive-In - Historic Richmond Town
August 11, 2014 - Staten Island

The All American Drive-In is back for six nights this year. Pull into the parking lot, park the family and sit back to enjoy a handful of great short films submitted by filmmakers from all over America. Tonight: Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

'Youth Moves' Movement Workshop Series - NYRP's Jane Bailey Memorial Garden
Through August 16, 2014 - Bedford Stuyvesant

First three Saturdays in July and August. A series of family-friendly movement workshops rooted in basic concepts presented by two Brooklyn-based dance companies—Urban Bush Women and Cora Dance. Everyone can hip hop! Discover the rhythm inside you! Taught by Cora Dance, this youth series will focus on hip hop movement. July 5 – Jane Bailey Memorial Garden (327-329 Greene Avenue, Bedford-Stuyvesant) July 19 – Jane Bailey Memorial Garden August 2 – Garden of Hope (392 Hancock Street, Bedford-Stuyvesant) Led by Urban Bush Women, Kinetic Kids will explore creative movement through dance games. Appropriate for ages 5 – 12. July 12 – Garden of Hope (392 Hancock Street, Bedford-Stuyvesant) August 9 – Garden of Hope August 16 – Jane Bailey Memorial Garden (327-329 Greene Avenue, Bedford-Stuyvesant) Presented by the New York Restoration Project in partnership with BAM.

Peter & the Wolf - Puppetworks Theatre
Through August 17, 2014 - Park Slope

Visit Puppetworks and enjoy three shows at each performance: "The Ugly Duckling," by Hans Christian Andersen, told with Shadow Puppets, "Peter & the Wolf," Prokofiev's Musical Adventure, and "The Frog Prince," the Brothers Grimm story, told with marionettes. Adapted and narrated by Nicolas Coppola. Total Running Time is 1 hour. Shows are at 12:30 and 2:30pm every Saturday and Sunday from 5/3/14-8/17/14.

Little Hands Creative Play Workshop for Toddlers - Barking Cat Studio

This creative play workshop focuses on educational, theme-related, simple art projects that little hands can easily create and enjoy. Register for a series of classes or drop in. (Drop-ins are welcome provided there is space. Call in advance.)

Free Summer Sports Programs for Brooklyn Youth - City Parks Foundation

Throughout the summer, City Parks Foundation provides more than 13,000 New York City children free tennis, golf, and track and field instruction, including free use of equipment in more than 60 locations citywide. In Brooklyn, City Parks Foundation's Sports programs will be taking place in Bensonhurst Park, Betsy Head Playground, Fort Greene Park, Herbert Von King Park, Highland Park, Jackie Robinson Playground, Kaiser Park, Kelly Playground, Leif Ericson Park, Lincoln Terrace, Marine Park, McCarren Park, McKinley Park and Prospect Park in Brooklyn. Summer Safety Event - Jewish Children's Museum
Through August 28, 2014 - Crown Heights

Visit the second annual safety event for kids this summer. Featuring a number of safety themed exhibits including a sun smart challenge and hydration activities. On Sundays, children will have the opportunity to meet and be photographed with “community heroes - safety personnel” including policemen, fire fighters, and others. Children will have the opportunity to practice safe street behaviors both as drivers on pedal go-carts and as pedestrians, in order to be awarded a “Safety City” license.

Fireworks - Coney Island Beach & Boardwalk

Head down to Coney Island on Fridays this summer to enjoy a fireworks display.

Autism Support Group - Hebrew Educational Society

Affected by or confronting autism? You are not alone. Share your experiences and support each other. While the support group is in session, parents/caregivers can bring their children and their siblings.

Sensory Room Family Hours - Brooklyn Children's Museum

The Museum's inclusive sensory space engages children of all abilities. This room provides a welcoming environment for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and Sensory Integration disorder.

Magic at Coney - Peggy O'Neill's

For the past four years, Magic at Coney has entertained families in Coney Island all year round. Coney Island was always a beacon for magicians throughout the world. The local sideshows at Dreamland, Luna Park and Steeplechase Park, as well as the dance halls and theaters were a proving ground for those performing artists looking to hone their skills. Magic at Coney has re-kindled that spark of enchantment for audiences young and old. Magical Promotions has now teamed with Peggy O’Neill’s, on the site of the original Steeplechase Park, to present an afternoon of fun and wonder for the entire family. Magic at Coney is a magical variety show highlighting a vast array of magicians; featuring illusionists, escape artists, mentalists and close-up performers. Hosted by Gary Dreifus, award-winning magician, teaching artist, mentalist, hypnotist, magic instructor and world-renowned magical host.

Science at the Fairs - NY Hall of Science
Through September 27, 2014 - Corona

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the 1964-65 World�s Fair, NYSCI is collaborating with Queens Historical Society curator, Richard Hourahan, to bring the history of science at the World�s Fairs to NYSCI with a photo exhibit. Get a snapshot of how science was viewed and presented to the public 75 and 50 years ago. The ideas, the excitement, and the latest achievements, hopes and fears are told through a compelling series of black and white photographs and audio and video excerpts of the presentations, exhibits and visitors who flocked to the fairs. The exhibit runs through Sept. 27.

Roller Skating - Prospect Park: Lakeside
Through September 30, 2014 - Brooklyn

The LeFrak Center, a 16,000-square-foot covered roller-skating rink, is offering a range of activities for those new to the sport, and those with a passion for this pastime. Among the planned offerings are learn-to-skate and roller-hockey programs for youth and adults, and a roller derby program with the Gotham Girls, New York City's only all-female, DIY roller derby league. Free Skate Mondays: To ensure all in the community have the opportunity to experience skating at Lakeside, every Monday (excluding school holidays and national holidays), children 12 and under receive free rink admission between 2pm – 6pm. The program includes unlimited skating if the child is accompanied by an adult. Please note, a $6 skate rental charge applies.

Water Play - Prospect Park: Lakeside
Through September 30, 2014 - Brooklyn

Starting this Memorial Day, the LeFrak Center at Lakeside will transform its uncovered rink into the Park�s largest water play area for children. Free to the public, the water feature includes 41 jets that form clear streams of water that dance across the surface, so children can play while keeping cool on a hot summer day. At night, the fountains will be lit up for a spectacular display.

Park Slope's Sunday Down to Earth Farmers Market - Old Stone House
Through November 28, 2014 - Brooklyn

The Park Slope Farmers Market takes place every Sunday in front of PS51 at the corner of 5th Avenue and 4th Street. It is run by Community Markets of Ossining, NY. The Park Slope Farmers Market offers a wide selection of local products, including fruits, vegetables, herbs, baked goods, cheese, fish, wine, soaps and more.

Indoor Play - Powerplay
Through December 31, 2014 - Gowanus

Powerplay's play area is an environment that encourages physical and imaginative play. It's indoor play space is a warm embrace for the cold and frosty days. It provides amenities of a local playground in a fun and inviting atmosphere. Parents and caregivers must supervise their child.

Arty Facts - Brooklyn Museum

Children ages 4-7 and their adult friends explore the galleries, enjoy a family activity, and make their own art in this 90-minute class, each one a variation on a monthly theme. On hiatus until October 2014.

World Brooklyn - Brooklyn Children's Museum

Kids can visit examples of stores they might find in some of Brooklyn's ethnic pockets: a Chinese stationary store, a Mexican bakery, a West African import store, to name a few, which are modeled after real Brooklyn businesses. There's also an international grocery store and a replica of the famous L&B Spumoni pizzeria from Bensonhurst.
