College Students Can Blow Off Some Steam at Bounce! at Discounted Rates Every Week - Bounce! Trampoline Sports

The special event night offers college students a chance to have some fun and reduce their homework stress at discounted rates. College students only need to show their ID and they will pay just $10 for the first hour and $5 for the second hour. Admission includes trampoline dodgeball, slam dunk basketball, open jump time and foam pit jumping as well as volleyball (not on the trampolines).

FIDDLER ON THE ROOF - CM Performing Arts

Fiddler on the Roof features a score by Jerry Bock (music) and Sheldon Harnick (lyrics), with a book by Joseph Stein and based on the stories of Sholom Aleichem. Fiddler on the Roof is filled with the themes of tradition, family, love, marriage, regret and optimism represented through honest and funny characters. Trying to balance life - like a fiddler on a roof ? Tevye, a poor dairyman, attempts to preserve his family's traditions in a changing world. Tevye's daughter wants to marry a poor tailor instead of the middle-aged butcher her father has chosen for her in the tradition of arranged marriages. Tevye is forced to choose between his daughter's happiness and his culture's beloved tradition in this universal story of hope, love and acceptance.

Long Island's Got Talent 2014! - Ward Melville Heritage Organization
Through March 21, 2014 - Stony Brook

Attention Long Island students. Can you carry a tune? Is a musical instrument your specialty? If so get your audition DVD submitted now for Long Island's Got Talent 2014, hosted by the Ward Melville Heritage Organization. Created by WMHO's Youth Corps, the event gives Long Island students the opportunity to show off their talents this spring. It's open to students 10-17 years of age in Nassau or Suffolk County who must still be in high school at the time awards are given in October 2014. Talent must be non-professional vocal or musical instrument performances. The entry deadline is March 21 and there is a $25 entry fee. A total of $25,000 in scholarships will be awarded from Five Towns College and a $1,000 cash prize will be awarded to the 1st place winner, courtesy of Competition Automotive Group. Those contacted after submission of their DVD will be asked to perform at the first round on April 4 at WMHO's Educational & Cultural Center. Semi-finalists chosen will then perform at WMHO's Sunday Summer Concerts series and the finals take place in October 2014 when the winners will be chosen.

Snow Day in Oyster Bay - Oyster Bay Historical Society

Snow Day in Oyster Bay features artifacts, images, and clothing from the Society's permanent collection, as well as costumes on loan from the personal collections of Monica Randall and other lenders. The exhibition highlights many of the traditional activities of Oyster Bay in winter, including sledding, bobsledding, skating, and skiing. The exhibit runs thru March 23.

Hot Off the Press--an Exhibition of 21st Century Prints - Art League of Long Island

The Jeanie Tengelsen Gallery at the Art League of Long Island presents an exhibition of 40 prints by 20 contemporary artists from Universal Limited Art Editions (ULAE), the esteemed fine art print publisher located in Bay Shore, Long Island. The exhibition displays intaglio etchings––some hand painted, mezzotints, traditional lithographs and pigmented inkjet prints, as well as three dimensional intaglio constructions and three dimensional lithographs and silkscreens. Student Arts Festival, Part II - Guild Hall

For twenty-two years, the Student Art Festival has helped nurture and encourage young talent on the East End. Over 5,000 students from kindergarten through high school from 10 public, private and home schools in the Amagansett, Bridgehampton, East Hampton, Montauk, Oysterponds, Sag Harbor Shelter Island, and Wainscott districts participate. The exhibition celebrates the artistic pursuits young people by exhibiting their work in a museum environment and salutes their teachers who cultivate and inspire the creative process. Student Arts Festival, Part II features art done by children in grades 9-12. Reception March 8 2-4pm. Exhibit runs from March 8- April 20, 2014.

Secrets of Circles - Long Island Children's Museum

Circles are amazing shapes. If you look around, you�ll see that they�re everywhere: wheels, clocks, doorknobs, tortillas, Frisbees and tops. Be the first to explore an exciting exhibit, celebrating the math, science and beauty behind such a simple shape. Children and adults alike will uncover the secrets of the many circles in the world. The exhibit runs through May 4. Secrets of Circles offer visitors the chance to: �Draw circles on a glow-in-the dark table �Go on a circular scavenger hunt �Build a gear contraption to turn a dancing doll. �Climb into a circular boat �Play and pretend in a market full of circles from around the globe �Use mirrors to experiment with symmetry �Learn how circles aid engineers in solving problems.

Spirit and Identity: Melanesian Works from the Hofstra University Museum Collections - Hofstra University Museum, David Filderman Gallery

Curated by collections manager Kristy L. Caratzola, this exhibition showcases an extraordinary aspect of the HUM collections for the first time. The original exhibit offers a range of ethnographic artworks and objects created by members of the distinct regional communities of Irian Jaya, Papua New Guinea, New Britain, Vanuatu, and the Kiriwina Islands located in the South Pacific. The selected works center upon ancestral figures, ceremonial masks, warrior shields, and ritualized practical objects crafted from natural materials sourced from sacred sites within the territory of each individual culture. The exhibit also includes sophisticated wooden sculptures carved and painted by revered artists, which serve to express complex ideological beliefs through stylized human and animal forms complemented with colorful, abstracted geometric designs. The vital connection between humans and ancestral spirits and their active role in providing guidance and protection is an essential concept shared among many Oceanic cultures and is a defining characteristic of Melanesian art.

All We Need is a Beat-Zumba Kids - Unlimited Sports Action

Outdoor Sculpture Biennial - Adelphi University

See the work of 10 skilled sculptors located throughout the scenic 75-acre arboretum on the Garden City campus. This outdoor installation showcases the talents of Miggy Buck (NY), John Clement (NY), Maria Hall (NY), Ed Haugevik (NY), William King (NY), Anti Liu (NY), Johnny Poux (NY), Kim Radochia (MA), Christopher Saucedo (NY), and Hans Van de Bovenkamp (NY). Works of art encompass use of various materials-steel, bronze, aluminum, concrete and reflective mirrors. These man-made creations are transposed into poetic visual narrations. The exhibition runs through May 31, 2014.
