Haunted House - Bayville Scream Park

Every year the doors of the Bay Family Mansion are unlocked. The ghosts and ghouls come out to play. They invade all of Bayville Adventure Park. Bayville Adventure Park transforms into a spooky world of frights and surprises to become Bayville Scream Park. Featuring Bloodworth Haunted Mansion, Uncle Needle's Fun House of Fear, Temple of Terror, Zombie Pirates and Evil in the Woods! There is plenty to do for the younger kids this Halloween season. There are two "not so scary" haunted houses, the pumpkin bounce, the pumpkin patch and the spooky Halloween Express Train and Hay Ride. They can also get great Halloween snacks at the Creepy cafe like candy apples, cotton candy and popcorn and there are still all the regular attractions of the Adventure Park like Spooky Pirate Miniature golf all decorated for Halloween.

Lillias White in Concert - The Madison Theatre at Molloy College

Lillias White, a native of Brooklyn, New York, is the quadruple-crown winner of the 1997-98 Drama Desk Award, Outer Critics Circle Award, Friends of New York Award and the prestigious TONY Award for best featured actress in a musical for her performance of Sonja in The Life. Her many other Broadway credits include Jonesy in How to Succeed in Business, Grizzabella in CATS, Asaka in Once On The Island, Joice Heth in Barnum, Aretha Franklin in Rock-In-Roll – The First 5,000 Years, and Effie Melody White in DREAMGIRLS (20th anniversary concert recording available on Nonesuch records). In off-Broadway Lillias has been Queen Zauba in The Princess and the Black-Eyed Pea and Hennie in Romance in Hard Times in which she received a Cobie Award. She was Velma in Crowns where she earned an Audelco Award, and most recently, Obatala in Obatala King of the White Cloth, by David Wright, performed at the Riverside Church, NYC. On TV, Lillias appeared on various PBS specials from Great Performances with the Boston Pops to In Performance at The White House, as well as on NYPD Blue and Law & Order. She spent four seasons as Lillian Edwards on Sesame Street where she obtained an Emmy Award and she just filmed an episode ofThe Jury on Fox TV. In the movies, Lillias has been with Jim Carrey, Cop #1 in Gloria with Sharon Stone, as the voice of the lead muse in Disney’s animated Hercules, and as Yvette the #1 neighbor in Pieces of April with an all-star cast including Katie Holmes and Derek Luke (now available on DVD and Video). Lillias White has performed live at Lincoln Center, Archi’s Place, Central Park, Symphony Space, Carnegie Hall and many other venues worldwide. Her recording “From Brooklyn to Broadway” is available at Colony Records in NYC.

AftermodernisM: Works on Paper - Nassau County Museum of Art

This exhibition focuses on the exploration of the drawing skills and innovations of a number of artists. Some of these works on paper are preparation for larger works on canvas. Outdoor Sculpture Biennial - Adelphi University

See the work of 10 skilled sculptors located throughout the scenic 75-acre arboretum on the Garden City campus. This outdoor installation showcases the talents of Miggy Buck (NY), John Clement (NY), Maria Hall (NY), Ed Haugevik (NY), William King (NY), Anti Liu (NY), Johnny Poux (NY), Kim Radochia (MA), Christopher Saucedo (NY), and Hans Van de Bovenkamp (NY). Works of art encompass use of various materials-steel, bronze, aluminum, concrete and reflective mirrors. These man-made creations are transposed into poetic visual narrations. The exhibition runs through May 31, 2014.

Saturday Respite - Theresa Academy of Performing Arts
