ACD Playspace in Astoria Launches New Children’s Programs This Fall

ACD Play Space, a childcare and learning center in Astoria, is launching a series of new programs for children this fall. Inspired by the popular Zumba exercise program, Zumbini starts Sept. 17 and is for ages 0 to 4 years and combines music, dance and educational tools for a fun learning experience. Classes are Mondays, 9 to 9:45am and Wednesdays, 6:30-7:15pm

It’s all about art during the center’s Studio Splatter NYC program, where children ages 0 to 4 years will explore their creativity by getting an introduction to art. They’ll used their hands to paint a variety of items, including things from nature, such as tree branches and snow. Classes started Sept. 8 and take place  on Saturdays, 9:30- 10 am

During Spanish Immersion Music class, children ages 18 months to 4 years will learn how to recognize the Spanish language through music and basic words. The instructor will follow a natural approach to teaching the class with a variety of routines to help make the lessons fun yet educational.

The programs are designed to be a bonding experience for parent and child. According to owner Alicia Arenas, who has more than 10 years experience in home child care, the programs will provide a unique educational experience outside the home.

“It’s a great way for them to interact with other kids and learn the touch and feel of different instruments, and in Zumbini they’ll be using different things,”  Arenas says. “It’s a different way for them to learn.”

ACD Play Space opened in November 2017. Its mission is to provide a safe and educational space for children to learn and grow through exploring, music, dance and play.

Registration for the programs is open. Check the website for more information.
