Fidelis Care Executive Vice President and COO David Thomas (left of scissors) and President and CEO Rev. Patrick J. Frawley officially open Fidelis Care’s Yonkers Community Office, 1 of 10 Community Offices in the greater New York area where people can meet with representatives about health insurance coverage.

Fidelis Care, a health plan that aims to provide all 62 counties with quality and affordable health insurance coverage, held the grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony for its Yonkers community office on Oct. 24.

Director of marketing George Rodriguez says that this community establishment, which soft-opened in June, allows members to access all of the services that Fidelis Care offers, including a team of bilingually trained member services representatives.

“We’ve been available in Westchester County since 1997, so we have a long relationship with the communities of Yonkers, Mount Vernon, and neighboring municipalities,” he says. “We decided to open up a community office to be able to have a home for our membership base to go in, ask questions, and have that one-on-one interaction with our Fidelis Care representatives.”

One of the many services Fidelis Care provides is Child Health Plus, a New York state-sponsored program that almost all New York children ages 19 and younger qualify for regardless of immigration status. Depending on household size and income, coverage may be free or have a modest premium. The plan provides coverage for regular health checkups, routine dental and eye care, prescription medications, emergency care, and more. Enrollment for Child Health Plus is available year-round.

Other services include Medicaid Managed Care, Medicare Advantage, and other options available through NY State of Health: The Official Health Plan Marketplace.
