The NYMetroParents blogroll features the best blogs in the parenting world, from New York and beyond. Here's a closer look at why we love these mom bloggers and dad bloggers and how they're shaping the web for parenting today.

Blogging from: Astoria, Queens

Stephanie is a new mom who does it all: publicist, developer, consultant, blogger, and a speaker by day and a “mom by life.” Football Food and Motherhood charts the growth and development of Stephanie’s adorable son, Maximo, born July 2012, as well as other helpful tips for both expectant and new mothers. Stephanie, who lives in Astoria, Queens, began the blog before she gave birth and posted about her experiences, even documenting the pregnancy with pictures from week 1 to 38. Stephanie uses handy tabs at the top of her blog, separating her posts into different topics ranging anywhere from motherhood to food to Astoria.

On Football Food and Motherhood, Stephanie reveals some useful tips on ways to enjoy your precious ‘me time’ as well as her reflections on eating, staying healthy, trying to get rid of unwanted baby weight, and how to be a cool NYC mom. She also links to interesting and funny articles, and sometimes posts health-conscious recipes. One of the best features of Football Food and Motherhood is that Stephanie adds a very personal touch. She posts many photos and colors her posts with personal stories that are entertaining to read.

Stephanie also clearly has a knack for reviewing products and places. She has a great list of mom-approved NYC places and events, which is a fantastic resource for any parent looking for some kid-friendly places to go around the city. With her background in PR and marketing, she will also review products and makes her opinions known to all of her readers because she wants to get the word out about anything having to do with football (especially the Steelers), healthy food, or anything that makes being a mother a bit easier. Stephanie also holds giveaways on her blog as well as Twitter party giveaways.

Football Food and Motherhood has a lot of useful advice, entertaining posts, and precious pictures of Maximo, and is a great blog for expectant and new moms to check out. – Melanie Shapiro
