Mommy and Me Class - Montebello Jewish Center Nursery School

Mothers and their babies (ages 8-22 months) are invited for free play, stories, songs, music, and more in a nurturing and creative environment. This weekly program meets each Tuesday through December 17. Registration is required.

Choosing the Right College - Haverstraw King's Daughters Public Library

Teens and their parents are invited to the library for this special presentation. Topics include: Searching for colleges and visiting them, Filling out applications and writing a good essay, getting financial aid, scholarships & grants.

Book & Brush - Finkelstein Memorial Library

Every other Tuesday during the month of October, children are invited to the library to learn about art, history, and science through the use of different brushes, paints, and stories read by a librarian. Registration is required.

Mommy and Me Yoga - Rockland Music Conservatory

Parents with pre-schoolers are invited to take in the benefits of yoga together. This program incorporates "mindfulness thinking," allowing the kids to have a sense of community amongst themselves. Each class is based on a theme so that kids can relate and the sessions include physical yoga practice, relaxation, games, breathwork, and fun. Alternate Wednesdays through Nov. 27. Registration is required; mats and props are provided.

Animal Training and Enrichment - Bergen County Zoo

Animal lovers ages 10-14 are invited to learn about the creative things zookeepers do to prevent animals from getting bored. Keeping fit and active is important for all creatures, so zookeepers need to come up with challenging ways to keep the animals in their care on their toes.

Seasonal Workshop - Jill's Ceramics
Through December 30, 2013 - West Nyack

Jill will help artists of all ages design seasonal or holiday-themed crafts. Her selection includes jewelry boxes, candy dishes, mugs, plates, picture frames, vases, and more. Pieces can be taken home that day or left for glazing. Fee includes instruction. Pre-registration is requested. Toddler workshops are held each Monday and Tuesday. All-ages workshops are held each Friday.
