It is official: King Manor Museum is canceling all Hands On History events… APRIL FOOLS! This April Fools’ Day, come learn about some safe and fun jokes and pranks from the 19th century, harvest your own donut seeds, and make the classic Rattlesnake Eggs envelope prank! Check out the cartoon in our event graphic! From the Victorian Historian: “This cartoon is from an 1826 publication of Hone’s Table Book, a collection of satire popular with both American and British readers. The artist drew this cartoon based on an actual prank he had seen take place between a man and group of children. A caption which accompanied this cartoon repeats what the artist had heard during the prank: “Sir, there’s something out of your pocket.” “Where?” “There!” “What?” “Your hand, sir—Ah! You April fool!”” Hands on History is a FREE family program series held each first and third Saturday of the month at King Manor from 1-4pm.
