Long Island Cheer Program Expands Summer Camp

Gravity Cheer now offers three- and five-day camp sessions for its summer camp. Campers in both sessions will learn a cheer routine, tumbling, and stunts and participate in an obstacle course. The camp also offers extended hour care before and after camp, as well as a sibling discount.

Gravity Cheer is expanding its summer camp programs for age groups 5-7 and 8-10. Students have the option of choosing a three- or five-day camp out of six sessions offered. Three-day camp sessions will begin June 26 and five-day sessions will begin July 8—both run 9am-2pm.

A typical day at both camps involves learning a cheer routine, tumbling, obstacle courses, and stunts. Each camp day is themed for both camps, with themes like polka dot and stripe day and mismatched day where campers dress up in mismatched clothes. Five-day camp themes also include movie day, craft day, and luau. In addition, kids do a cheer routine and put on a performance on the last day of camp for the five-day session. Gravity Cheer doesn’t just offer cheerleading, it incorporates other sports activities like zip-line and rock climbing.

“My main goal is for the kids to just have fun time in a safe environment where parents don’t have to worry about them,” says Nicole Gabrinowitz, owner and director. “Our strength is that we offer a variety of activities and a highly trained and experienced staff.”

For the first time, Gravity Cheer is offering before and after-camp care for an additional fee. Parents can pick up their children one hour later or drop off one hour earlier. Gravity Cheer also offers a 15 percent discount for siblings.
