UPDATED JANUARY 2017: If your kids are looking for a fun place to get the sillies out, don’t let the cold weather keep you home. There are plenty of enjoyable ways to keep children amused during the winter months. Check out our handy guide to boredom-busting indoor play spaces, bounce houses, and sports centers for kids in and around Rockland, Westchester, Bergen, and Fairfield counties. When you're looking to get out of the house but still stay warm, you can drop in at these places on a moment's notice, no reservation or membership required (but do check for their hours of open play!).

Dubbed a kinder, gentler version of dodge ball, the game is played with a soft foam ball, and combines the skills of dodging, striking, running, and jumping, while trying to hit opponents with a ball below the knees. Open Gaga sessions are here when you need them: holidays, conference days, days off, snow days, and other “what should we do today” days! On Tuesday-Saturday mornings, there is a designated time for toddlers, and Friday nights are reserved for teenagers ages 11-18. There are also dodgeball, basketball, and foam pit jumps, and arena challenges with an X-Beam padded jousting stick and climbing races.

Sky Zone offers Open Jump times during normal hours for children of all ages. Activities include free jump on the wall-to-wall trampolines, jumping into a foam pit, and dodgeball and basketball dunking games.
