This summer, the JEI Learning Center in Auburndale will offer students in first through fifth grades the opportunity to dive into learning with its new program Brain Safari. It aims to help students love learning by creating an individually paced curriculum that instills confidence with its step-by-step learning process. Brain Safari’s mission is to “provide students with an enrichment program that works to strengthen logical and analytical reasoning, as well as to enhance creativity and memory proficiency,” says Ken Lo, director of JEI Auburndale.

With colorful and interesting workbooks, this programs focuses on seven different facets of learning, which JEI calls domains: Disciplined Intelligence, Spatial Intelligence, Memory Training, Logical Reasoning, Mathematical Intelligence, Analytical Reasoning, and Creativity Training. Students participating in the program will undergo a diagnostic test to determine which learning areas they need to improve. Then, each student will be prescribed an individual learning plan to meet his or her particular needs. Throughout Brain Safari, students will complete several achievement tests to chart their improvement.

Already an established and popular program in South Korea, this new program is in line with curriculum standards set forth by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics as well as the National Council of Teachers of English. Brain Safari is set to debut in Auburndale June 30.
