Music Learning Center Opens in Little Neck

Joyce Music Center, which offers piano, guitar, and flute lessons, recently opened in Little Neck.

Opened in September, Joyce Music Center offers private and group lessons in piano, violin, viola, cello, flute, and classical and electric guitar. The center also offers group beginner lessons in violin and guitar. Lessons are designed for ages 4 and older, and the music center has a special program designed for seniors ages 60 and older to learn to play an instrument, says owner Joyce Ng.

“We wanted to give more opportunities to learn [music],” Ng says, adding that all instructors who teach classes studied at music conservatories.

Group lessons are 50 minutes to an hour in length and are open to children 4 years and older. Private lessons are held weekly and range from 30-45 minutes.

Joyce Music Center has five programs for students to choose from including Music for Little Mozarts, a preschool piano class; Piano Duet Fun, for students in private lessons playing at an intermediate level who want to experience four-hand performance; Rhythm Training, in which students learn how to improve their sight reading and develop an ear for rhythm; ABRSM Theory for students to learn the basics of notes, rhythm, and musical theory; and Never Too Late for Seniors, for those who wish to learn to play piano.

The music center is open Tuesday through Friday from 1-8pm, Saturdays from 10am-6pm, and Sundays from 10am-3pm.
