Chilibeans Party Place Now Offers Two Summer Camps

Chilibeans Party Place will host two different summer camps in Queens this year: Lego Engineering and Artful Adventures. The Lego camp applies real-world physics, engineering, and architecture concepts for children in kindergarten through sixth grades. Lynda Straker and her sister Janice McLean have owned Chilibeans Party Place since 2007. Over the years they have hosted hundreds of birthday parties and field days for day care centers. This summer Chilibeans Party Place will offer two summer camps: a Lego camp and a crafts camp.

The Lego Engineering camps are part of the Play-Well TEKnologies program and will run Aug. 5-9 and Aug. 19-23. The camp is split into two sessions: pre-Engineering FUNdamentals with Legos for children in kindergarten through second grade from 9am-12pm and Engineering FUNdamentals with Legos camp for children in third through sixth grade from 1-4pm. Each session is tailored for the specific age group and applies real-world concepts in physics, engineering, and architecture.

The craft camp, called Artful Adventures, is geared toward children in first through sixth grades and runs from 9:30am-12pm. The first session is 3-D Insanity where kids create art projects while wearing 3-D glasses and will be held June 24-28. The second session is Crazy Craftin’ where campers create trendy crafts and will be held July 8-12.

“These programs offer art history and technical instruction in a fun and exciting learning environment,” Straker says.
