Early childhood learning center Little Apple Preschool plans to expand its facility for the January 2015 semester. The center will add on two classrooms, which will cater to kids ages 3-5, and a new gym.

Little Apple Preschool’s mission is to educate the youngest kids in the area. Through hands on activities and play, the center helps prepare children for kindergarten, starting as young as 1½ months. Class sizes divided by age group and are kept small to allow teachers to focus on each child individually.

Prior to Jan. 5, the preschool serviced children ages 3½ and younger. With the addition of two new classes, 4- and 5-year-olds will be able to prepare for higher education through dance, music, yoga, art, and other creative curriculums.

“As our motto goes, ‘They laugh, they learn, they explore’,” says Darlene Negron, executive director of Little Apple Preschool. “We let children be in their natural setting, and that’s the best way for them to learn.”

The center is also participating Universal Pre-K (UPK) for children ages 4-5.

Enrollment for the new 3- to 5-year-old classes begins Nov. 17. Interested parents can schedule tours online and call to register.

Little Apple Preschool is available for children in White Stone, Fresh Meadows, Floral Park, and neighboring areas.
