Long Island Siblings Named as Owners of Coffee Business That Benefits Those with Special Needs

Stacey Wohl, from Glen Cove, NY, is the mother of teenagers, Brittney and Logan Wohl—her two children with autism and newly named co-owners of her coffee business Our Coffee with a Cause, Inc., a coffee business dedicated to providing employment opportunities for those with special-needs.

The idea is that a portion of the proceeds will go towards Our Own Place, a non-profit created by Wohl to help special-needs children and their families to come together to offer support and advice. Wohl employs Long Island residents with special-needs to accrue real-life skills. The employees work with an assistant to sell items in the store using a custom-designed iPad app, and package, label, and ship the coffee.

“Our Coffee with a Cause is dedicated to employing special-needs adults and showing that there is ability in disability,” Wohl said in a statement.

Eventually, Wohl wants to use her organization Our Own Place to open a respite home on weekends to provide job training and socialization skills to for families of children with special-needs.

When you buy a cup of coffee from this business, you know that your money will be put to a good cause.
