Madame Tussauds New York Premieres Lunar New Year Exhibit

Last year Madame Tussauds New York released its Ghostbusters exhibit and combined the life-like wax figures that it’s known for with an incredible interactive virtual game. As of late, the famed wax museum has become known for these types interactive installations and has recently it has added a new exhibit in honor of China and the Lunar New Year. It runs Feb 12th to March 31st, 2018 and there will plenty of fun opportunities to celebrate the Year of the Dog.

Visitors will learn about the customs and tradition of China through interactive experiential activations. You feel as if you were transported to China with the vibrant lanterns and colorful theming. There is also a fun Dragon photo opportunity and visitors will be able immerse themselves in this festive cultural experience.

In addition, three new figures will be will be making their New York City debut and they include China’s most iconic stars: actress, Carina Lau, actor and martial artist Donnie Yen, and hurdling champion Liu Xiang.

I got a chance to take a closer look at the exhibit and talk to the Regional Head of Marketing, Christine Haughney, about some of its highlights. (See video below) Madame Tussauds also teamed up with North Shore Animal League America for an adoption event in celebration of the Year of the Dog.

In conjunction with the new exhibit, Madame Tussauds New York is running a contest. The Lucky Money Lunar New Year Instagram contest is happening now and you can enter by taking a photo at the photo booth in the Lunar New Year experience, then sharing your boomerang or photo on Instagram with the hashtags #YearofTheDog & #FamousFun and writing about one of your luckiest days.
