Natural Parenting Convention to Debut in New York City Next Month

MommyCon, the nation’s largest natural parenting convention, will debut in New York City on March 25.

The convention will include talks, workshops, and tons of products for the natural parent. Visitors can look forward to learning about
babywearing, cloth diapering, breastfeeding, infant health and nutrition, green living, and natural birthing. There will also be 45 exhibitors showcasing products and clothing for parents and kids.

Cotton Babies founder and CEO Jennifer Labit will be demonstrating cloth diapering basics and techniques. Parents will also be able to get potty training tips from Laura Wojciechowski of Super Undies. NYC’s Lance Somerfeld and Matt Schneider, co-founders of the City Dads Group, will be among the keynote speakers and will be leading a workshop called “Redefining Fatherhood.” Experts in the fields of babywearing, kangaroo care, and sleep consultation will be available to talk to attendees.

“We are really excited to finally be coming to New York City,” said Xza Higgins, MommyCon founder and program director, in a press release. “Natural parenting communities are growing larger each year, and we have an active community of like-minded individuals in New York who we are all looking forward to meeting in person.”

Guests will be able to enjoy the signature areas at the conference, including a babywearing lounge and baby gear area with a “try-no-need-to-buy philosophy. There will also be a baby food court with experts on hand to talk with parents about nutrition and eating challenges. Kids and babies are welcome and can explore the baby care area and baby-safe play spaces.

MommyCon will take place on Saturday, March 25 from 8.30am–4:00pm at the Millennium Broadway Hotel, 145 W. 44th St. in Midtown. Tickets are $45 in advance and can be purchased at mommycon.com.
