Music School in Mamaroneck to Launch Band Jam for Kids

Bach to Rock, a music school for kids, is launching a Band Jam for kids ages 10-13 on Tuesday nights starting April 3.

Every Tuesday from 6-8pm, kids can join the group and try out different instruments in a laid-back atmosphere. “Kids can come with friends or by themselves and have a night of jamming out, getting their hands on instruments, and playing in a group setting,” says Director Anne Weycker.

“We want to get them excited about the potential of being in a rock band and getting to do a live performance,” says Weycker.

No experience is necessary and each jam session costs $20. “We really want to inspire kids and even if they don’t have a ton of experience they can still come for those two hours a week and get beginner knowledge of what it’s like jamming in a group,” says Wecker.

You must register in advance and may do so online or by calling Bach to Rock.

Students interested in the Tuesday night jam do not have to be current students of Bach to Rock. “It really is a great opportunity for any one that is new to Bach to Rock to come in and check us out,” says Weycker.

The jam is instructor-led and 1-3 teachers will be present assisting the kids.

Bach to Rock offers various music classes such as individual and group lessons in piano, guitar, bass, and drums, as well as a glee club and early childhood classes. It also offers music camps during the summer and spring and winter breaks.

Bach to Rock is located at 130 Mamaroneck Ave., in Mamaroneck. For more information call 914-341-1457 or visit mamaroneck.b2rmusic.com.
