My Gym, a children’s fitness center that offers classes for children 6 weeks to 10 years old, will open a new location in Harlem on April 4. Its core fitness programming teaches children the fundamentals and foundations of gymnastics combined with music, games, and socialization. “All our programs are intention-based, so there’s a purpose for everything [the kids] are learning,” says Lindsay McArthur, director of business for the Lincoln Center and Harlem locations.

The Harlem location has a secondary classroom, “which will allow us to not only offer our core programs, but it might give us the flexibility to offer ancillary programs,” says Katie Johnston, director of programming for the Lincoln Center and Harlem locations. “We could have multiple classes running simultaneously catering to different needs and ages.”

In addition to weekly classes, members have access to Practice and Play sessions, an extra hour that children can use the gym space and equipment to practice the skills they’re working on in class that week.

My Gym also hosts birthday parties with three packages to choose from. The first package includes 1½ hours of gym fun, the second package includes pizza, juice, and a cake or cupcakes from Magnolia’s Bakery, and the third package is a themed party—chosen from 25 different themes—and each child receives a themed party favor and a mylar balloon.
